From The Darkness of Addiction...
Have You
Heard Of
Priority
House?

Many people may view drug/alcohol
abuse and addiction as strictly a social
problem. The majority of society
believes substance abusers and
addicts should be able to stop taking
drugs if they are willing to change their
behavior. These myths have not only
stereotyped those with drug-related
problems, but also family members
and professionals who work with them.
Substance abuse and addiction
comprise a public health problem that
affects many and has wide-ranging
social consequences. Treatment can
have a profound effect not only on
drug abusers, but on society as a
whole by improving social and
psychological functioning, decreasing
related criminality and violence, and
reducing the spread of AIDS.
On average for the country,
approximately 90% of addicts go
through outpatient treatment services
instead of entering a residential
rehabilitation program. Statistics show
that longer-term residential treatment
is overall more effective and a
drug-free rehabilitation approach is
better in the long run for a person
suffering from drug and/or alcohol
abuse and addiction.

Preparation crossing opportunity produces
success. A lot of times we are not prepared
for the challenges of tomorrow. It’s vital that
Priority House prepare its students for the
many different facets of life. When
opportunity arises, our students are well
prepared to take advantage of the opportunity
that will produce a successful outcome. It’s
important for not only Priority House, but for
all people to recognize that “Preparation
crossing opportunity produces success!” Don’
t waste time not preparing today for your
future tomorrow.
